The steps to NSW Work Health & Safety or Environmental accreditation.

Project audits & inspections:
Many NSW Government construction contracts require that the contractor engages an independent auditor to conduct audits and inspections on the project.

WORKING WITH THE NSW GOVERNMENT
If you already have a documented management system to meet the requirements of the NSW Government guidelines, you will need to get it certified.
There are some important things to note here:
The guidelines allow for a certificate to be issued that is valid for up to 3 years. Watch out for companies that want to audit you every 6 months as they are just taking your money
The audit has to be conducted by a person who is not associated with the contractor or the person writing the documentation. If you are talking to a consultant who is going to write your system and give you a certificate, be very careful as you may end up with a cetificate that is not valid or a system that is not up to scratch.
The auditor must be registered with Exemplar Global (formely RABQSA) as a principal, lead or business improvement OHS Auditor.

GOVERNMENT ACCREDITATION
NSW Government Accreditation
For pre-qualification over $1M, NSW Government now require that contractors engage an independent OHS Auditor certification. Government accreditation by JAS-ANZ personnel certifiers such as RABQSA or equivalent, (as a Principal, Lead or Business Improvement OHS Auditor) must certify that the contractor’s system complies with the NSW Government WHS Management Systems and Auditing Guidelines 5th Edition.
For pre-qualification over $10M and environmental sensitive projects, government accreditation to the NSW Government Environmental Guidelines 3rd Edition is also required. This is the same process as the WHS accreditation, but is completed against the NSW Government Environmental Guidelines and ISO14001:2015.
As a contractor you must engage with an auditor who holds RAB-QSA accreditation as a Lead, Principal or Business Improvement OHS Auditor for WHS accreditation and Environmental Auditor for environmental accreditation. J2M Systems auditors hold current RABQSA accreditation as Lead OHS, Environmental and Quality Auditors. We are qualified to provide NSW Government WHS Certification and Environmental Certification. We provide this service as a flat rate fee, regardless of whether there is follow up required to address non-conformity. Many of our competitors charge for the WHS review and continue charging to review non-conformances. To check if an auditor is qualified to do this work, you can visit this register of RABQSA accredited professionals.
We can also complete the WHS referee reports that you need on three projects for the pre-qualification scheme. It is especially important to note that the NSW Government do not accept AS4801 Safety Certification alone. it must be NSW Government Guidelines or Federal Safety Commissioner Accreditation.

ACT Government Accreditation
ACT Government require that contractors obtain either third party certification from a JAS-ANZ accredited certification body, or second party certification from a senior auditor who appears on the approved senior auditors list.
J2M Systems have auditors approved by ACT Government for Quality, Work Health and Safety and Environmental Management System second party audits. If you want full third party certification we can also organise this for you.
